Blasts along intertiol border

FROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT

IMPHAL January 3: The insurgents who had carried out several ambuscades against the security forces they dub “Indian Occupation Force” ended the series of attacks in 2014 by an attack along the intertiol border. Troopers of 24 Assam Rifles were on foot patrolling near Kwatha Khnnou in Chandel district bordering Myanrmar on December 31 night.

The insurgents had detoted two bombs almost simultaneously using remote control devices. There was no casualty in the blasts. However, the insurgents are reported to have opened fire using automatic rifles. There were retaliations from the personnel after the initial immobility.  As reinforcements rushed in, the insurgents fled. It is believed that they had fled to their camps located in no man’s land. There has been no claim by any underground organisation. In a separate incident, two insurgents belonging to the KYKL were bbed. One Chinese 9 mm pistol with four rounds of ammunition were recovered from one of them. They are now in police custody.
