Diphu MP adopts village in Karbi Anglong

HOWRAGHAT, January 6: Biren Sing Engti, Member of Parliament of Diphu (ST–H) constituency, officially adopted Sangkar village of mati MAC under Howraghat legislative constituency on Tuesday.

Engti, along with Mukul Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner, Moloi Bora, Principal Secretary, KAAC, Ashok Teron, EM, KAAC, Pradip Rongpi, EM, KAAC and senior officers of various departments of Karbi Anglong district, visited Sangkar village and interacted with the people of the village.

While interacting with the villagers, Deputy Commissioner Gogoi said that base line survey would start soon in the village and its adjoining villages to be covered under the model village or the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yoja. The village is situated around 70 km from Diphu headquarter and around six to seven km from Howraghat town.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the required holistic development work for the ideal village would start soon after the completion of base line survey in the adopted village. Principal Secretary of the KAAC, Moloi Bora also assured to help in the building of an ideal village in Karbi Anglong hill district.
