Apex bank inks MoAs for fincial inclusion

Itagar, January 7: State–owned Cooperative Apex Bank has inked memorandum of agreements (MoAs) with three NGOs for speedy fincial inclusion and enrolment of rural populace in Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yoja (PMJDY).

The NGOs included tiol Youth Project (NYP), Yuva Aruchal (YA) and Manghi Welfare Society (MWS) which would cover 9, 736 households in 152 villages in five districts, 338 households in 18 villages of Tawang district bordering Chi and 1, 918 households in 103 villages in Kurung Kumey district respectively.

Apex Bank MD T Thongdok signed the MoAs on Monday with NYP president HP Biswas, YA president Chombay Kee and MWS president Ngurang Tado with a target to accomplish the task by February next.

Moreover, the Apex Bank, known as ’ap bank’, having 34 branches in various parts of the state with core banking solution (CBS) facility would also sign such MoAs with NN Charitable Society, Young Mission Adventure Club, Women Development Centre and Guwahati–based Human Development Center to accelerate the process to bring the uncovered areas under fincial inclusion, the MD disclosed.

Thongdok further added that all the NGOs are institutiol partners of tiol Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (BARD).

The bank would conduct training of trainers for the NGOs to acquaint them with the procedures for undertaking the job, Thondok added.

The NGOs would hold fincial counseling camps with a focus on PMJDY in villages besides conducting household survey and compile data base of all villages, the MD disclosed.

The NYP, YA and MWS would be conducting 101, four and 20 camps respectively for the purpose, he added.
