Connectivity is government’s priority: Gadi

Itagar, January  8: Connectivity is one of the priority areas of the state government for the fruits of development to percolate down to the end beneficiaries, PWD Minister Gojen Gadi said.

Gadi, accompanied by Transport Parliamentary Secretary Jomde Ke yesterday, was addressing the silver jubilee celebration of Kagku village under West Siang district, whose inhabitants had migrated from Hime area in West Siang district 65 years ago, an official communiqué said here today.

Responding to the villagers’ plea for 60 km road from Durpai via Kangku to Balisori, he disclosed that considering the necessity of the road along the inter–state border area he had already submitted the estimate worth Rs 58 crore for the consideration of the state government during this fiscal.

However, as the people living in Durpai, Sampak Sojo, si, Hime, New Hime, Germe, Balisuri, Torajan, Rate, Nyijir Kose, Kamcham & Kamku villages were facing communication hazard, Gadi announced construction of porter track from Hime to Balisori and Hime to Durpai at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively as immediate relief to the applause of the villagers. He directed the PWD to submit the DPRs for the purpose soon. Balisori is already linked by a PMGSY road.

Pointing out that the state government has been initiating steps for a permanent solution to the inter–state boundary row; Gadi announced that the government has decided to set up IRBn headquarters in Kangku circle. West Siang DC has been directed to submit land allotment soon he said and urged the goan burahs and elders to not disturb the land acquisition process, the communiqué added.
