Preparations begin in lbari for R–Day

LBARI, January 9: lbari district administration has chalked out a programme to celebrate Republic Day in a befitting manner. A meeting was held in this regard on Thursday at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, lbari.

The meeting was presided over by Dr Om Prakash, lbari Deputy Commissioner (DC) and attended by lbari Superintendent of Police (SP), Commanding Officer, 12 Mahar Army Regiment, Commanding Officer of 136 battalion CRPF, magistrates and other departmental heads. After a threadbare discussion, the meeting decided to celebrate the Republic Day with patriotic songs starting from 6 am. The tiol flag will be hoisted in private residences and buildings at 7 am and at 7:30 am it will be hoisted in government offices and private establishments. A colourful procession by school and college students will culmite at the Police Parade Ground, the venue for central function of the Republic Day celebration in lbari.

The dignitaries will pay floral tributes to the martyr at the martyrs’ column at 8:30 am. Then the tiol flag will be hoisted which will be followed by the singing of the tiol anthem, inspection of guard of honor and march past. A colourful musical extravaganza to showcase the rich heritage of lbari will be the major attraction of the day.

lbari SP Dr BM Rajkhowa outlined the security measures which will be put in place for R–Day celebration. The DC said that plastic flags should not be used. He stressed building a congenial atmosphere for the celebrations. He also asked the Inspector of Schools and District Elementary Education Officer, lbari to provide sufficient flags to the school students in the district.
