26th Road Safety Week from today

GUWAHATI, January 10: Following a directive from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Assam Transport Department is going  to observe the 26th Road Safety Week from January 11–17 in collaboration  with the traffic police and the district administration along with all automobile dealers/transport associations of Kamrup (Metro) with a host of activities.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will formally iugurate the programme on January 11 at 10 am at the ISBT Complex, Betkuchi, Guwahati.
The activities to be conducted during the programme include awareness drives through all print and electronic media, bike and car rallies, street plays and screening of video films on road safety measures, health camp for drivers and conductors of ASTC, training of drivers (hazardous goods vehicles), enforcement checking–cum–awareness programme, training of bus drivers, breath alyser test etc. The closing ceremony will be on January 17 at DTO’s Complex from 11 am.
