Tripura to hold business summit

Agartala, May 10:  The Tripura Government is planning to hold a business summit in Agartala to attract the investors and set up industries in the State.

The proposed summit is likely to be organized in October – November this year.

According to sources, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is very much keen to hold such summit for attracting investors to the State. 

The State government has already started working on the kind of benefits the State can offer to the industrialists.

Apart from the development of the traditional industries of the State, the government is attaching more importance on setting up IT based industries for the development of the State.

Leaders of all major industrial houses in the country and the local youth who are running industries outside the State will be invited to participate in the summit. Several Central ministers will be invited to attend the summit, the sources said. 

Chief Minister Biplab Deb in his last visit to Delhi had a meeting with Union minister of Information Technology Rabi Shankar Prasad and discussed holding of industrial summit.  The Union Minister has, however, assured Deb of full cooperation from the Central government.
