Muslim Rashtriya Manch president hits out at organizations of state

GUWAHATI, May 30: The Muslim Rashtriya Manch, a Muslim organisation affiliated to the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday in Guwahati, seemed fishing in troubled waters by commenting on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, besides questioning the role and identity of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and other ethnic organizations of the state.

While addressing media persons, the president of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Sayed Yasir Jilani alleged that including the AASU, various political and apolitical organizations of the state are misleading the people on the legislation. Highly criticizing the role of the apex students’ body, AASU Jilani even dared AASU and said: “Who is AASU?” Stressing that the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will benefit the people of Assam, Jilani said, “Assam should not worry on the legislation. Everything will be cleared black and white after June 30, once the final updation of the NRC is published.” Blaming the Congress for their overall failure over the last many decades despite being in power, Jilani said that the Modi-led NDA government is shining on all fronts intensifying multiple of people centric welfare schemes.
