Hojai boy Amar Thappa tops Science

NAGAON, May 31: Amar Sing Thappa of Hojai Ajmal College of Science, Arts and Commerce who took the HS Final Examination 2018 under Hojai Abdul Hasib Higher Secondary School has brought laurels for the first time to Hojai as well as to the both the educational institutions. He has secured first rank in the HS Final Examination, 2018 in the Science stream obtaining an aggregate of 486 marks out of 500 marks. His percentage is 97.2. He is the son of Binud Sing Thappa and Indrani Thappa of Jengra area of Karbi-Anglong district. He studied at Ajmal College of Science, Arts and Commerce as a hostel ward.

In an interaction with local mediapersons here, Amar said he wants to be a chemical engineer in the future and has a plan to study at one of the IITs. He secured 96 in English, 97 in Alternative English, 98 in Physics, 97 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics and 82 in Biology.
