‘World No Tobacco Day’ observed

GUWAHATI, May 31: The Kamrup (M) district administration in collaboration with State Tobacco Control Cell has observed ‘World No Tobacco Day, 2018’ at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakhetra on Thursday. Attending the occasion, Director General of Police Kula Saikia said that to control the use of tobacco there should be a behavioural change in the society. He also advocated for widespread awareness on the negative effect of tobacco.

Also other dignitaries attending the occasion were Guwahati Medical College Principal Dr AK Adhikary, Regional Health Director Dr Partha Gogoi, Director, B Barooah Cancer Institute Dr Amal Kataky, District Development Commissioner, Kamrup (M) Dr Bijoya Choudhury, Director Heath Services Dr R Bhuyan, State Nodal Officer, National Tobacco Control Cell Dr Arundhuty Deka and Actor Prastuti Parashar.
