Assam paddlers shine

GUWAHATI, June 15: Two Assam paddler Birdie Boro and Sankab Gautam won team title in the Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat Table Tennis competition which was concluded in Indore recently. The winner received cash award of rs 5 lakh. Birdie also finished third in the singles event and collected a purse of Rs 2 lakh. Altogether 32 states participated in the tournament and two of each combined to make a single team. Assam were combined with Rajasthan in the competition.
