Egg village set up to make Dibrugarh self-reliant in egg production

Namrup, June 17: In a bid to ensure quality egg production and also to make Dibrugarh district self-reliant in egg production, an egg village was formed on Saturday under the aegis of the district administration of Dibrugarh and auspices of Dibrugarh and Tingkhong State Veterinary Hospital along with Betoni Public Welfare Samiti, at Betoni public auditorium. An open session was held to mark the occasion which was conducted by Bhupen Gogoi, president of Betoni Public Welfare Samiti, while Dr Ratna Bahadur Pradhan, Officer, District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Dr Rohini Kumar Borthakur, RDEO and others graced the occasion as the resource persons. The resource persons in their speeches spoke about several scopes and avenues pertaining to egg production business as a great source of self -reliance in Assam and inspired the people to come forward in this regard. The session also witnessed an interactive session between the local poultry farmers and the resource persons. More than 220 interested poultry farmers were greatly benefited by this initiative.
