| Anti-poaching camp at Seijosa |

SEIJOSA, Feb 15: Ringing warning bells for poachers in and around the Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary, which also comes under Project Tiger in Seijosa of East Kameng district, an anti-poaching camp was held here on February 12, which was inaugurated by WRD Minister and local MLA Atum Welly in presence of Parliamentary Secretary Kumar Waii, PCCF J L Singh, Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu, ZPM Maya Dolo and DFO Tana Tappi. The main objective of the camp was to check hunting in the area. Sources informed that several spy cameras have been placed at strategic points in the sanctuary to detect illegal poaching, besides monitoring trespassing by suspected elements. The high-level team later visited the wild Pakke pong, located within the sanctuary stretching about 7 to 10 kms, to have glimpse of wild animals. |
