SEPPA, July 30: “Teachers should not do their duty only to get salary, they should discharge their duty with the purpose of imparting quality education”, said East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Tope Bam while inspecting Government Secondary School, Pompoli recently. Terming teaching profession as challenging with great responsibilities, he asked them to discharge their duties sincerely, said Bam. While reminding the teachers of the importance of School level education, he said it is the right time to groom the students to make them capable to compete in competitions, unless the basic things are instilled in the mind of the students at school level, the very purpose of you being a teacher is of no use, Bam pointed out. Encouraging the SSA teacher not to be discouraged with the status of their job and salary, Bam informed that the government is considering the demand of the teachers and assured to regularize the SSA teachers’ in phases. Bam, however, asked the teachers not to compromise with quality of education. While assuring the teachers of all kind of help, Bam warned the absentee teachers of stern action. Bam also visited the Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS) Bana and appreciated the manner in which the school is being managed in a proper and hygienic manner. Bam suggested the teachers to make the students expert in extra-curricular and cultural items apart from class room teaching. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the tourist lodge at Wessang and Bana and directed the executing agency to expedite the work and release funds as per the percentage of the work completion. Bam also inspected the EAC quarter and PHC at Bana. Bam was accompanied by EAC Bana, DTO W Ramdasow and officers from education department and public leaders. |
