Silchar, Jan 10: A general meeting of Binnakandie Block Congress Committee was held at Gangadhayal Dixit Community Hall, Binnakandie Ghat at 1.30pm, recently. The meeting was graced by the presence of MLA Rajdeep Goala who was also the chief guest at the meeting. The meeting, presided by Monojit Das, president of Binnakandie Block Congress Committee, was attended by the presidents of the 9 GPs of Binnakandie, members of Mandal Congress, Yuva Congress and Mahila Congress. Rajdeep Goala said that sanction for Rs.23 crores has been asked from the government to build double line, from Dilkush Ferryghat to Amjurghat via Binnakandie Nutan Ramnagar. He further said that the amount should be granted within 4 to 5 months.
Rajdeep Goala donated a huge sum of Rs.75 lakhs for repairing Lakhipur, Ramnagar Amjurghat Road (LRA Road) and Rs.1 lakh 25 thousand for Chotomamda to Sonai Bridge via Boromamda Kaptanpur Road from MLA fund. He also donated Rs.15 lakhs for repairing and build the shore area of Barak River, of Lakhipur Tea Garden so that devotees can immerse Durga iodls on the day of Dussehra, without facing any difficulty. Money has already been sanctioned for development of Binnakandie Rongmei village and Naachghar of Dilkush Tae Estate. Rajdeep Goala spoke about the Prime Minister’s demonetization policy and said people have been facing a lot of problems and harassment. He also hoped that Congress would be able to make a strong comeback in the coming elections of 2019. Among others who spoke at the meeting included, Pritam Debroy, Jalal Ahmed Mazumdar, senior Congress leader, Kanta Singha, Monojit Das and Satyabati Kamai, GP president.
