Hailakandi, Jan 11: With the 68th Republic Day around the corner, Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Moloy Bora reviewed the sequence of programmes scheduled across all venues in the district at a high-level meeting attended by senior officials from civil and police administration.
Bora asked the civil and police administration officials to meticulously prepare for the sequence of programmes, including dress rehearsal of the march past and parade commencing from January 18 to January 24, stated a press release. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials to put all arrangements in place across the district, including the main venue at Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Stadium in Hailakandi town. Bora exhorted upon the officials to ensure smooth and hassle-free facilitation of members of the public to the venues so that they can witness the march past parade, display of tableaus, cultural and other events.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the officials to ensure refreshments to school boys and girls participating in the Republic Day celebrations. Bora also reviewed security related arrangements in and around the venues, besides taking stock of transport, parking, seating, availability of drinking water, electricity, deployment of health, fire and emergency staff and equipment. The Deputy Commissioner requested all to join in the celebrations by hoisting the national tricolor in private buildings and to come up with creative and new themes marking the day in a befitting manner.
On the momentous occasion, felicitations will be accorded to the best marketplace under Swacch Bharat Abhijan, best ASHA, best Anganwadi centre, best three teachers, best cashless transaction by garden management, best cashless transaction by garden management, best cleanliness office, best NGO, best GP, best shop for introducing pay TM under Adhikari Pan Bhander, besides disbursement of financial assistance to the beneficiaries. Awards and certificates will be given away by the distinguished dignitaries to the best march past contingent, home guard, NCC, scout and guide. Fruits and sweets will be distributed to the inmates of District Jail and patients of SK Roy Civil Hospital. Patriotic films will be specially screened for children on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner has convened another meeting to review the preparedness with the heads of departments concerned on January 19.
