6,055 educational institutions provincialized

GUWAHATI, March 5: Altogether 6,055 educational institutions and 18,504 staff of educational institutions of the State have been provincialized. This was announced by State Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma here today.

The names of all the institutions and the staffs will be released in five different websites, www.ssaassam., www.tetassam. com,www.lpupteachers. com,, One can also access the list from the DO and DI office in their respective districts from March 7.

Addressing a press meet, Sarma said, “Altogether 6,055 educational institutions in the State have been provincialized together with the posts of 18,504 employees. Those left out from provincialized should not lose hope. If they fulfilled the criteria, they will be soon be provincilized.”

Altoghter 3,473 new Lower Primary schools has been provincialized in 21 districts along with the provincialization of the posts of 7,018 teachers and staff. Again in Upper Primary level, 1,258 schools have been provincialized with posts of the 7,987 teaching staffs.

 Although the names of the provincialized teachers of Music and Crafts is not yet out, Sarma said that it will soon be out within two months.

Moreover, 257 High schools having two classrooms are provincialized with provincialization of the post of 254 employees.

Again in schools with five classrooms, 14 schools have been provincialized and 212 employees’ post have been provincialized.

Meanwhile, four junior colleges have been provincialized and post of 88 teachers in these colleges have also been provincialized.

The Education Minister also announced that on March 23, a special TET for the Shiksha Mitras will be held, on March 24, TET for High School teachers will be held while on March 27, 11,000 teachers for Lower primary schools will be recruited in regular post.

The minister also announced that the salaries of these provincialized teachers will be given from January 1, 2013.

The minister further said that those educational institutions who fulfilled all provincialization criteria but have missed a place in the provincialization list, could apply again. It may be mentioned that the lists of provincialization of LP schools in 21 district were announced, while the list of provincialization of Higher Secondary schools in 10 districts have been announced.

Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and at one or two places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
