GUWAHATI, June 19: Well- known Assamese poet Hiren Bhattacharya, Hiru da was put on ventilation at 12 am on Monday night, after his health deteriorated and his body registered a low blood pressure. This was informed by Dr Brajen Lahkar, who is attending the poet.

Hiru da is now being fed on liquid food. A team of GMCH doctors, led by Dr Jogesh Sharma and Dr Anup Barman visited the poet at the Dispur Hospital today.

Meanwhile, Chief Minster Tarun Gogoi contributed another Rs 50,000 today for his medical expenses.
