GUWAHATI, June 19: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation(GMC) and the district administration today sealed five go-downs in the Fancy Bazar area for storing plastic bags of less than 40 micron thickness.

The five godowns are Bijoy Singh Omprakash Agency, Plastic Emporium, Paras Bhandar, Ramdev Enterprise and Pankaj Store. Based on a tip-off, the GMC authorities raided the five godowns and cancelled their licenses.

Present during the raid were GMC collector Deba Mishra, Guwahati Circle Officer, Pullock Mahanta and Mintu Hazarika, a CIPET official.
