By our Staff Reporter GUWAHATI, Aug 7: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has condemned Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for the lack of support from the State machinery in the investigation of the Pritam Bhattacharjee murder case. Speaking to mediapersons at a press conference held here today, Jayanta Saikia, ex-general secretary of the Parishad said that a four-member team of the Parishad had visited Bihar Governor Devananda Konwar, deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and the DGP to press for expediting the investigation into the murder of Bhattacharjee. He said, “The DGP of Bihar has informed us that they found several clues to the Pritam Bhattacharjee murder mystery and investigations are on.” He further said that the Bihar DGP informed that the Assam Government has taken no initiative in pressing for the expedition of the case or helping the Bihar police nab the culprits, which is contrary to the statements made by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi of mounting pressure on his Bihar counterpart on the issue. The Parishad further condemned the Governor and said that despite being a son of the soil, the Governor has shown little interest in the solving the case. |
