GUWAHATI, July 11: The Federation of Engineering Service Associations of Assam (FEDESAA), consisting of Assam PWD Engineers Service Association, Assam Engineering Service Association (Irrigation and WRD) and Assam Public Health Engineers Association expressed serious concern on the physical assault on Assistant Engineers Harekrishna Sarma, Tilak Sarma of PWD (R) and Mukut Deka of Water Resource Department at Kolaigaon and Borbori village respectively and condemned the incidents in a meeting held at Chandmari recently.

The Secretary General of FEDESSA, Dilip Deka said that the constituent Associations of FEDESAA had always opposed corruptions and irregularities and have no objection in punishing the guilty officers through proper enquiry.

 “The Federation is however opposed to the attitude of a section of the society, taking law into their own hand, without proper verification of the allegations. Such behaviour of he miscreants will discourage the honest and sincere officers in discharging their field duties,” he said. The Federation further demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants involved in the incident.
