TINSUKIA, April1: ASEB SC, Guwahati, lifted the 7th Oil India Challenge Gold Cup Football Tournament by defeating host OIL FC , Duliajan 2 -0 in the final held at Nehru Maidan, Duliajan on Sunday.
The scored remain 0-0 in the first half as both team failed to score. In the 18th minute of second half defender Hemanta Kumar Brahma scored the first goal for ASEB SC taking a long ranger which lobbed over advancing OIL custodian Jitu Chetry who failed to read the shot. In the 42nd minute of the second half striker Chayaram Basumatary scored the second goal for the winners.
In the closing and prize distribution ceremony the winners ASEB SC , Guwahati, were handed over the winner trophy along with cash award of Rs 1,50,000 by chief guest NK Agarwall , Resident Chief Executive , OIL . The runners up OIL team were handed over the runners up trophy along with cash award of Rs 1,00,000 by Ranjit Kumar Saikia , General Manager [ HR] and President of the organizing committee.
Earlier, before the Start of the final match, felicitation of chief guest NK Agarwal Resident Chief Executive OIL,guests of honour Binanda Deka , Group General Manager [ Production ] OIL , Jamshed Khan , secretary , Dibrugarh District Sports Association , Arun Das Resident Chief Editor,Dainik Janambhumi took place. A Souvenir brought out on the occasion was released by chief guest. Players, officials, referees were introduced to the chief guest and other guest before the start of the match. |
