GUWAHATI, June 19: The 36th All Assam Inter District Chess Championship, organized by All Assam Chess Association in association with Srimanta Sankar Academy and Kamrup (matro) district Chess Association, will be held at Srimanta Sankar Academy, Dispur from July 7 to 19. The preliminary rounds of Sun-Junior, Junior, Women, Veteran  categories will be held on July 8 to 11. The age groups of the categories are u-7, u-9, u-11, u-13, u-15, u-17, u-19. The top four position holders will received cash award with trophy as well as to get chance to represent Assam in National Championship. The Open category will be started from July 11. Total prizemoney of this championship will be Rs 1,20,000 and around 250 players will take part in the meet, organizer said. Moreover, special trophy will be awarded to top 3 players in Sub-Junior, Junior separately.

The tournament is closed among the affiliated district units os All Assam Chess Association. All affiliated units can send 10 players of each group to the tournament in normal entry fees.
