GUWAHATI, July 9: Gauhati Town Club stunned defending champion ASEB Sports Club and entered the semifinals of the Premier Agro Bio-Tech N N Bhattacharya Football tournament. At Nehru stadium today GTC shocked the Super division champion by 2-1. They were trailed in the half time but bounced back in the second half.

Sanjay Boro gave ASEB early lead inside the opening minute of the match. Then GTC created some good opportunities but their strikers could not converted those into goals.  At last it was Rakesh Das who scored the all important equalizer for GTC in 62nd minute through a corner taken by Partha Das. In 76th minute GTC got a penalty kick due to the hand-ball of ASEB defender which was successfully converted by captain Tomba Singh.

Tomorrow Maharana AC will take on NF Railway in the second quarter final.
