Guwahati, July 9, 2012: The team of Rishabh Gogoi and Arnab Das from Maharishi Vidya Mandir gave the city of Guwahati reasons to cheer as they qualified for the East Zone Finals of HDFC Life School Quiz 2012, a special quiz based on theme of Olympic Games. Overall 6 teams have qualified for the East Zone finals, other teams include D.A.V, Pokhariput (2 teams),  D.A.V , Unit VIII , Bhubaneswar, Apeejay School, Park Street, Kolkata and Birla High School, Kolkata. Two teams will from the East Zone finals will make it to the national semi-finals. The show being hosted by ESPN STAR Sports presenter and commentator Alan Wilkins has been conceptualized and implemented by the ESPN STAR Sports’ Event Management Group (EMG).

In this Olympic year, the Olympic edition of HDFC School Quiz 2012 is an important initiative by ESPN STAR Sports EMG Group to enthrall, entertain and educate sports fans across the country about the forthcoming block buster properties on the network. The quiz show will also have a special section wherein famous current and past Indian Olympians ask relevant questions to participating students. The televised broadcast of HDFC School Quiz 2012 precedes London Olympics 2012 which will also be showcased on ESPN STAR Sports.
