GUWAHATI, Nov 4:NITS Mirza lifted the first NEFTi Volleyball Tournament organized by North East Forum for Technical Education at Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST).

In the final match played on Sunday, NITS Mirza defeated GIMT by 3-1 in a keenly contested tie. Niyor Bharali of NITS Mirza is judged as the best player of the tournament. Six teams namely NITS Mirza, GIMT, RIST, SITM, Assam Down Town University, University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya participated in the friendly competition.

 Along with the volleyball competition patriotic song and group dance competition was also organized to commemorate the death anniversary of legendary musician Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Vice Chancellor of USTM Dr. Prem Saran & General Secretary of NEFTi Devajit Bhuyan gave away the prizes.
