By our Staff Reporter GUWAHATI, June 28: All the train passengers who were stranded at Mibong, Harangajao and Lower Halflong due to massive landslides in the Lumding-Badarpur hill section have been evacuated. About 440 stranded passengers of up Cachar Express 15692 at Mibong have been taken to Lumding by a relief train and then they were given accommodation in the Guwahati bound 15604 Dn Intercity Express. About 380 stranded passengers of up Cachar Express 15691 at Harangajao have been taken to Badarpur by a relief train and 1460 passengers stranded at Lower Halflong were transported by vehicles via Hamreng to Lanka. From Lanka they were again transported to Guwahati by a special train. Officials and staff of Lumding Division of the Northeast Frontier Railway arranged and provided all facilities like foods, drinking water, medicine, sanitation, et al to those stranded passengers. Sources said that the track restoration work was in full swing.
