GUWAHATI, Aug 22: A 15-member team of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), led by party president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, called on Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in New Delhi on Wednesday. The AGP team drew the attention of Shinde at the “failure” of the Assam Government in tackling the situation in the Bodo Territorial Areas District (BTAD) in the initial stages due to which the situation worsened in the later stages. AGP members will stage a demonstation at Jantar Mantar on Thursday on these issues and also meet the President, Prime Minister and the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
