GUWAHATI, Oct 31: Special judge Md. Mazed Ali on Wednesday delivered the judgement in the special case no. 6/2011. Manoj Kumar Sakia, auditor of local fund, has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for three years and six months with fine of Rs 50,000, for demanding Rs 10,000 from each of the five gaon panchayat secretaries under the Gomariguri Development Block when he was serving in the office of the subdivisional planning office, Golaghat. Manoj Saikia was caught red-handed by Biren Chandra Phukan, DRDA Project Director, Golaghat and a case was filed against Saikia at the Merapani police station.
