Namrup, March 20: Disang Kiner LP School under Joypur Education Block, established in 1988 and provincialized in 2013, has been facing several problems. The bamboo-built school hut is in a dilapidated state with roof leakage here and there. Only the toilet and the kitchen are concrete.
Due to the lack of adequate classrooms, students from Class I to Class V are taught in two classrooms only. In fact, students of three classes are taught in a single classroom at the same time. This has naturally affected the entire teaching and learning process. Besides, there are no desks and benches for the students and the roof leakage in all the classrooms during monsoon severely affects the students and the teachers. Moreover, only two teachers, including the Headmaster, have to teach more than 70 students of five classes. As the students of this school basically belong to financially poor families, they have no other option but to study in such conditions.
The local populace has urged the authorities concerned to take proper initiatives to improve the infrastructure of Disang Kiner LP School.
