Doctors to abstain from work for three-day

Flood-hit still living in shelters in State

SHILLONG, Oct 7: Thousands of people are living in makeshift shelters in the flood-ravaged areas of western Meghalaya after over 10,000 houses were inundated, officials said on Sunday. No loss of life has been reported.

BSF nabs one

SHILLONG, Oct 7: The BSF deployed at Chichingpara border outpost in West Garo Hills apprehended one fake Indian currency smuggler. Bablu Marak from Dalu in West Garo Hills was apprehended while he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During search operations, the BSF seized fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 31,500 from his possession.

GNLA rebel killed, RDX recovered
