SHILLONG, July 21: Meghalaya Minister for Social Welfare JA Lyngdoh who is also an MLA inaugurated the new office building of SDO, PWD (R) Mawphlang Sub-Division at Mawphlang in the presence of RV Lyngdoh, Chairman, MTDC, HL Blah, local MDC, NK Lyngdoh, Lyngdoh Hima Mawphlang, M Tariang, CE, PWD (R) and K Passah, CE, PWD (B) on Saturday. The building was constructed by the PWD (B) at a total cost of Rs 53 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, JA Lyngdoh said the government is making all efforts to provide best possible services to the people of the State and this is one of the efforts made by the government to bring administration closer to the people. Lyngdoh said that road communication plays a vital role for overall development. He also stressed the need that officers and contractors should ensure that their performance matches with the expectations of the people. While stating that in all developmental schemes, the coordination between the department concerned and the public is essential, Lyngdoh urged the Hima, Dorbar Shnong and the local residents to extend their cooperation to the department for the overall development of the area. Among others who spoke on the occasion were RV Lyngdoh, HL Blah, NK Lyngdoh and M Tariang. The meeting was presided over by K Passah.
