SHILLONG, Aug 13: On being appointed as member of the Union Public Service Commission, Professor David Reid Syiemlieh was today felicitated in a largely attended meeting at the North Eastern Hill University, the Meghalaya Tribal Teachers Association North Eastern Hill University (MeTTA-NEHU). Prof. David Syiemlieh was earlier Professor in the Department of History, NEHU and later held important positions in the University in various academic bodies and also as Dean and Pro Vice chancellor before becoming Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. After having been selected as Member UPSC, Prof. David Reid Syiemlieh relinquished the position of Vice Chancellor to occupy the present important position at the National capital.
