Shillong, Jan 7: After last week’s thrashing at the hands of Goan giants Churchill Brothers in Goa, Shillong Lajong FC is looking forward to redeem itself with a win against another Goan side Sporting Clube De Goa, in tomorrow’s game to be played at Duler Football Stadium, Goa.
The Reds are struggling with injuries of Renedy Singh and Friday but are confident of a better performance than the one against Churchill Brothers with the return of their first choice keeper Lalthuanmawia Ralte, who was handed a one-match suspension, following his sent-off in the game against Pune FC.
Tuesday’s match in Goa will be a crucial Round 15 I-League encounter for both the sides. SLFC goes in to with grim determination to settle for no less than a win, as they look to garner home all three points which will assure them of safety from the relegation zone.
The SLFC coach Desmond Bulpin said that he is very happy that Ralte and Wailad will be back for tomorrow’s game as they were suspended and Lalramluaha will also be back from injury. “We’ve had many injuries at the wrong time and this has really cost us. Despite the odds we have to remain positive as all we need is three wins in a row to climb up in the standings”.
What remains to be seen is whether Shillong Lajong is able to perform up to not only the fans expectations but also to their expectations. |
