SHILLONG, April 20: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJP Youth wing) Meghalaya at the BJYM National Conference of the party held in New Delhi, which started on April 17 and concluded on April 19, raised the issues of SSA teachers in Meghalaya pertaining to enhancement of salary. State BJYM leader Egenstar Kurkalang, informed that the party has highlighted the issue at the conference regarding the non compliance of state government of Meghalaya to make full payment salary of SSA teachers as per the approval of PAB HRD minister since April 2016 which is Rs. 19044 for L.P teachers and Rs. 20,493 for U.P teachers respectively in the state. Kurkalang BJYM (BJP Youth Wing)President Meghalaya Unit appraised the various problems of the people of the state before National Leaders of BJYM and MPs of the party including Piyush Goyal Minister of State Independent Charge Power, Coal, New& Renewal Energy and Mines , Nirmala Sitharaman Union Minister of State Independent Charge Commerce and Industry at the BJYM National Conference.
He informed that from Meghalaya the conference was represented by four members himself, Nangkotbok Hoojon General Secretary, S.Lyngdoh and R.Lapang National Executive members.
The issue of SSA teachers was raised during an interaction session of the National conference. The BJYM leader also raised the issue regarding the failure of state government to solve the controversy arose in SSA Teacher’s D.El.Ed results with NIOS and the delay in releasing scholarship of the students by the state government. The BJYM Meghalaya unit had requested the central leaders to follow up with the concern authorities regarding SSA teacher salary.
