MUMBAI, June 28: After making a name for herself on the small screen as well as the silver screen as a producer, it seems now that Balaji Queen Bee Ekta Kapoor is gearing up to enter the world of film distribution too. Sources claim that following the example of Yash Raj Films and UTV Motion Pictures, Kapoor has decided to distribute her ventures through Balaji. Tanuj Garg, the CEO of Balaji said, “Setting up an in-house nationwide distribution infrastructure is the next step for a company like ours that is at the forefront of content creation and marketing. This will give us greater control on the value chain, which is in line with deriving studio status.” Sources also claim that Kapoor’s maternal uncle Ramesh Sippy will be heading the distribution department and that the wing is supposed to take off in the next few months.
