Baby Soccer League in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Guwahati City FC and Sportscraft Management in association with the Assam Football Association will host the first ever Baby Soccer League in Guwahati. Players at the age group of 6-13 years will get the opportunity to participate in this league.

Disclosing the news in a media conference Darick Ranjan Deka, the co-founder of both the organizations, today said, “Greater Guwahati Baby League already got the necessary approval from AIFF. The competition will run for 4 months starting from the end of November. The kids would be divided into four age categories (6-7, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13) and they would play in every weekend.”

Commenting on the objectives to host the event Deka said,“ The main objectives are to bring kids to the field regularly, create football culture, give the young footballers experience of professional football and few others.”

Ankur Dutta, the secretary of the Assam Football Association was also present in the media briefing. In a brief reaction on the Baby League he said,“ It’s a historic step for the development of Assam football as it is going to accelerate the development at the grassroots level.” He also appealed all football fans, clubs and different organizations of the state to join in this project and help to take forward the state football one step ahead.”

The logo of the league was also unveiled during the media briefing.
