From our Special Correspondent
IMPHAL, June 15: The hostels of the students and staff quarters of College of Nursing, RIMS, are now under construction and vacant posts of the teaching faculty will soon be filled up. This was disclosed by Prof N Damayanti, Head of the Department of Anantomy, RIMS, who is also looking after the affairs of the College of Nursing. She was interacting with the teaching faculties to make a general review of the performances and identify the areas where special thrust should be given so that this college will soon be included in the list of top ten colleges in the country.
During the meeting she exhorted the teachers not to be misled or disheartened by gossips and other diversionary tactics engineered by those anti-establishment elements with inborn destructive mindsets. She said that except for a few new cases over 40 others had been disposed off by the law court in favour of the authority. It shows that there was no merit in those cases and the road blockades were raised solely to hamper the growth of the college. She further said that such elements should not be allowed to use or mislead some teachers. The authority will have to write the ACRs of those who had gone to court on fabricated and untenable issues. The third batch of students will soon be admitted. She urged the teachers not to be distracted by the negative media campaign.
Prof Damayanti is also an active member of the Dental College Development Committee. The committee is leaving no stone unturned to open the college shortly. She is also the chair person of the Hostel Development Committee which is trying to cope with the shortage of hostel as a result of the increase of the post graduate students in the institute. |
