Drugs seized

IMPHAL, July 22: The Thoubal district police, on Saturday confiscated 46,520 tablets of ephidrine from a Muslim drug trafficker. Ephidrine is banned in India. The drugs were being carried to Myanmar, where it is used in manufacturing heroin. Police have intercepted the car at Pallel while it was on its way to Myanmar. The driver has also been arrested. He is identified as Amir Khan alias Mafazuddin of Lilong Turel Ahanbi. An FIR has been registered and inquiries are on.
