Feng Shui for the House

1. If the main door of your house faces any obstruction like a tall building, pole, sharp edges or a T-junction, etc, plant some trees to disperse the poison arrows.
2. If there is a sharp edge of a wall or column that is pointing towards your house, it can be hidden with a soft curtain.
3. Hang two, six or seven bells tied with red thread on your doorknob to activate wealth and luck for your business.
4. The symbols Swastika, Om and Trishul combined together with the Sun is a very powerful Yantra to keep away evil forces. This symbol can be kept on both sides of the main door or even in your purse.
5. Do not leave shoes or slippers outside the main door. They should be kept on one side, preferably inside a box. The front area of the main door must be free and clean. Avoid them at all costs in the Northeast.
6. Six rod metal wind chimes have the power to break down stale earth energies harmful for health. So if the energy of a room becomes stagnant, consider hanging a windchime.
7. Fresh air and sunlight are essential for rooms like bathroom and kitchen. Sunlight kills many harmful micro organisms while fresh air brings in fresh energy needed for good health.
8. Children’s room should not be located over a garage or under a toilet. This will distract his studies.
9. Children’s bed should not have a box underneath because it will not allow energy to flow under the bed. That is why children are advised not to sleep on mattresses on the floor. They will become physically weak.
10. The bed should be placed in such a way that there is a solid wall behind. It induces support and a good night’s sleep. But it is preferable to have the bed approachable from both the sides.
11. It is very good to have a water feature like a fountain or an aquarium in the north or the northeast. If after keeping it for about four months, there is a negative effect, then change the position. It should be avoided in the bedroom.
12. Statues of animals like horse, elephant, rooster, phoenix should be kept in the south. They bring luck, fame, protection and good health.
13. The Laughing Buddha is widely accepted as a symbol of good luck, wealth, happiness, success and prosperity. It should be placed diagonally opposite the main door
at a height of about two and a half feet or more. It can also be placed at south.
14. The three gods of health —- Luk, Fuk and Sau — can be placed in the dining area.
15. It is excellent to have crystals or crystal balls anywhere as they do not have any negative effects. But they absorb negative energies and so they should be cleansed with salt water from time to time. Sunlight reflected from crystal balls brings good luck. They are good for children and relationships.
16. As the North is responsible for career, it can be activated by keeping a tortoise here. The triple Turtle also serves the same purpose but this can be kept at east. The Dragon headed Tortoise with baby can be kept at southeast to bring peace, wealth, health, career, education, children, prosperity and long life.
17. The sailing ship can be kept in the drawing room to usher prosperity but it should not sail outwards.
18. Chinese Coins tied with red ribbon bring good luck and these can be kept on the main door handle, purse, important files, cash box etc. Nine coins strung on a red thread should be hung at west or northwest.
