London, Aug 11: South Africa gave the finishing touches to India’s disastrous campaign in the Olympic men’s hockey competition with a 3-2 win in the classification match for 11-12 positions here Saturday.

Netherlands beat Argentina to defend women's title

LONDON, Aug 11: The Netherlands became only the second team to retain their Olympic title with a 2-0 victory against world champions Argentina in the women’s hockey final on Friday.

Colombian president hails first gold

LONDON, Aug 11: Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos celebrated the country’s first gold medal in the women’s BMX (Bicycle Motocross) at the London 2012 Olympics.

Santos thanked cyclist Mariana Pajon for garnering the country’s first gold medal in London.
