NEW DELHI, June 23: When India played the last ODI tournament in Asia Cup Indian opener Virender Sehwag was rested on fitness ground and there was speculation that he was dropped on account of his lackluster form with the bat in the Australian series. But after a commendable performance with the bat in the IPL, the Delhi dasher is all set to make a comeback into the Indian ODI team when the selectors pick the squad for the five-match Sri Lankan series, which will also have a one-off T20 match.
Sources said that the selection committee is likely to pick the squad in the first week of July and will select a side keeping in mind the upcoming World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka this September. "He wasn't fully fit for the Asia Cup. During the Australian tri-series, he was regularly treated for his shoulder injury and so the selector thought it fit to rest him. But in the IPL, he was simply brilliant," a source told TOI. In this year's IPL, Sehwag, who led Delhi Daredevils, scored 495 runs with five consecutive fifties from 16 matches. Agencies
