GUWAHATI, June 23: Assam Olympic Association (AOA) observed the International Olympic Day Run here at Guwahati today. The run started from Anandaram Baruah fly-over, Chandmari at 6 am and ended at Nehru Stadium. Forest Minister and Secretary of Assam Olympic Association Rockybul Hussain flag-offed  the run where former table-tennis player Arjun Kamlesh Mehta and Monalisa Baruah Mehta participated. Around 200 participants ran in the Run along with various film actors, sportspersons and students.

Just before the start of the Run the organizer felicitated gold medallist in the 800m race in National Masters Athletics Bhagya Kalita, retired principal of Sonaram Higher Secondary School and founder of Assam Handball Association, Kumudeshwar Hazarika and former International Table-Tennis player Dwarik Sharma by giving away Rs 10,000 along with Japi, Sarai and Gamusa.
