JORHAT, March 15: Ananda Chandra Dutta, an internationally reputed botanist and nature-lover of Jorhat was accorded public ovation at a function held at JB College auditorium here today. About 20 organizations accorded the ovation to him. It is to be mentioned that Dutta has been conferred with the Degree of Doctor of Science by Dibrugarh University.

In the function held under the presidentship of Dina Bordoloi, the welcome address was delivered by the Principal, JB College Dr Bimal Bora and the citation was read out by Dr Panchami Bora Bhattacharya. Noted educationist Prafulla Rajguru also spoke on the occasion.

In reply to the ovation, Dutta said, he was deeply attached to the study of nature and the flora all along his life.
