KOKRAJHAR, April 3: Sudhir Kumar has taken over the charge of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Bongaigaon Sector from Monday while the present DIG, Bhanu Upadhyay, has been transferred to Force Headquarter in New Delhi. Kumar had come here on transfer from the SSB Frontier Headquarter, Ranikhet in Uttrakhand. This was informed by the Assistant Publicity Officer, SSB, Bongaigaon GD Saklani.

Earlier, Kumar had served in the Northeast region in different capacities. He was the Commandant of the 16th Battalion, SSB, Kokrajhar and is well versed with the terrain, topography, demography as well as problems affecting the people of the area. On his joining, he had a meeting with the Officers in the Sector Headquarters where he clearly stated his priority and asked them to work with team spirit to achieve their goal.
