SIVASAGAR, May 31: A hardcore injured militant of anti-talk faction of the ULFA was arrested by the police early on Thursday morning, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Sivasagar, Lamhao Doungel said.
“Based on our intelligence report, we launched a search operation at Lengribor Tea Estate under Mathurapur police station in Sivasagar district in the wee hours of Thursday and nabbed the militant from the area,” Doungel said. The nabbed militant was identified as Robin Moran alias Habindra Moran of Lakhipathar in Tinsukia district. “The militant, who was injured during the Wednesday’s gun battle with security forces at Lalmati area in Mon district of Nagaland along the Assam-Nagaland border, was taking shelter in the area for taking treatment,” Doungel added. The arrested bullet-injured militant, after check up at Sivasagar Civil Hospital, was sent to the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh for treatment, the ASP said. |
