KOKRAJHAR, June 15: The selection of lecturers at Kokrajhar Government College is seen to be unsatisfactory as BTC approved candidates who have all requisite qualifications for the posts got deprived. The best candidate in BTC approved list is stated to be a victim of politics.
In a press meet held at Kokrajhar Government College today, the principal of the College Dr Binay Kr Brahma said there were 13 vacant posts in Kokrajhar Government College and as per direction, the College authority sent the names of five candidates having all requisite qualifications as per UGC norms to APSC. The five candidates were also approved from BTC authority. The names of five candidates approved by the BTC authority are Rajib Saha (Bengali Department), Jayanta Boro (Hindi), Laimwn Brahma (Education), Rangili Boro (Political Science) and Banshree Bhardwaj (Philosophy), Brahma said adding that the APSC conducted the examination on May 11 last and the result was declared on June 14. In the result, the name of Banshree Bhardwaj of Baihata Chariali is out of the list while the name of one Tanuja Kalita of Guwahati appeared. The principal was surprised by the result said Bhardwaj was the best of the five candidates and all of them have been working in the College since the last three-and-half-years.
Brahma expressed that the BTC approved candidates are neglected. Banshree Bhardwaj while talking to reporters said it was unfortunate that the list of BTC was neglected although it is a partner of the State Government. She said that she has nothing to say on her non enlistment in the result but it cannot be ruled out of repeating such thing in near future. She said BTC should keep strict eyes on selection of lecturers in Colleges so that no one can play foul for vested interest.
When asked if there could be political entangle in the selection process, Bhardwaj said, “I believe so because one of the members of the APSC could be behind selection of candidate. of his own choice.” |
