DIBRUGARH, June 23: Oil India Limited, Asia’s oldest pioneer oil exploration and production company, has been conferred with the “Performance Excellence Award 2011 (Organization)” by Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) at Udaipur during the inaugural function of 16th CEOs Conference. The award has been given to OIL for its remarkable performance in Financial and Operational strength during the year 2010-11. IIIE is a professional body of Industrial Engineers dedicated to the advancement of Industrial Engineering discipline and profession and to the application of scientific knowledge to assist in the effective management of all endeavours of the country. Former CMD, HPCL Arun Balakrishnan, conferred the award and Company Secretary SR Krishnan, received the award on behalf of OIL.
Oil India Limited is the second largest national upstream oil company in India. It has been showing constant growth in crude oil and natural gas production. It is presently producing at the rate of around 3.90 MTPA of crude oil, the highest in its over five decade long history. Natural Gas production is also around 7 MMSCMD.
