SIVASAGAR, July 8: A total of 30 meritorious students of HSLC and HSSLC examinations were felicitated by the Sivasagar district committee of the newly formed political party, the United People’s Front (UPF) of Assam in a function held at Shikshak Bhawan, Bishnu Nagar in Sivasagar today.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Dr Gunin Basumatary,  vice-president, central committee of UPF, Ashok Das, assistant secretary, central committee of UPF, Dipamoni Borgohain, co-ordinator, Bakul Bora, social activist, Niren Hazarika, social activist and Haider Hussain chief co-ordinator. Each student was felicitated with a merit certificate and a memento.The programme was also attended by the teachers and guardians.

 Congratulating the students, Dr Basumatary in his speech said that this type of programme helps in encouraging the bright young students.

Earlier, Dipamoni Borgohain while explaining the purpose of the programme, said that the felicitation function was organized with the sole intention of encouraging the students to study hard so that they could achieve their goals.
