From our Correspondent KOKRAJHAR, July 21: The Gonotantrik Nagarik Suraksha Mancha (GNSM) of Dhemaji has called upon all MPs of the State to raise a united voice to press the Government of India to declare flood and erosion problems of the State as a national problem. In a press statement sent to The Sentinel, President Jarimin Narzary, Vice president Tulan Sonowal and Secretary Sushil Basumatary welcomed the decision of the State government to press the Union government to declare flood and erosion of the State as national problem. Leaders of GNSM said the decision was a welcome move and every MP of the State has the moral responsibility to raise a united voice on the issue, so that the Centre takes effective measures for a permanent solution to the flood and erosion problems of the State. They further said the Government of Assam has failed to deal with flood and erosion problem and most of the preventive measures have been left half done over the years. |
